The right-hand axle tube of the front axle used with the Select Drive System has a cast iron housing attached to it which contains the two-wheel drive disconnect shift mechanism. The disconnect mechanism consists of a two-piece axle shaft, a shift collar and a shift housing cover, motor, and fork mounted on the cast iron housing attached to the axle tube end.
