On June 29, 1996 my brother-in-law visited the former AMC test and proving grounds (now MGA Research Corporation) outside of Burlington, Wisconsin as part of the American Motors Owners Association convention.
In addition to driving their cars around the AMC test track, an early 1980's AMC Concord 2 door sedan was crash-tested with a 35 mph side-impact. Of course, since the car was never designed to survive such an impact, the crash was judged to be barely survivable.

Before - the test lab people explaining what the test was all about.
Here is what it looked like right after the test sled impacted the Concord.
And here is what the car looked like when the sled was pulled away. Kind of a mess, isn't it.
